Big Brother Naija AllStars season first runner-up, Mercy Eke, popularly known as Mercy, has made a U-turn on her claims of having a rich boyfriend before joining the show.
Tribune Online reports that Mercy, during the initial stage of the recently concluded AllStars season, revealed that her rich lover offered her the equivalent of the show’s grand prize of N120 million not to participate in the reality show, but she rejected it.
She said, “My boyfriend told me that he will give me N120 million in three months, that I shouldn’t go for All Stars but I said no, I want this. I came here and as I have come here now, one naira I no go get.”
However, while speaking with media personality, Toke Makinwa, in a recent interview, Mercy backtracked on her claim about having a partner.
According to her, there was no boyfriend anywhere and she only made the claim just to chase male housemates away as she was not willing to go into a relationship with anyone while in the house.
She said, “There was no man. Yes, I said there was a man because I didn’t want to be in a relationship. I was just trying to use that to chase the guys away from me. I wanted to play the game and didn’t want that relationship thing. But then they kept coming, you would just see one ugly boy, and then after two days, he don fine.”
