A former Minority Leader in the 6th Bayelsa House of Assembly, Hon. Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha, has thrown his weight behind Senator Seriake Dickson’s third term senatorial ambition.
Speaking at a press briefing in Ekeremor Town, Dauyegha condemned a statement by the EKELGA Movement for Political Fairness, which opposed Dickson’s bid for a third term.
Dauyegha described the statement as reckless and capable of inciting people to an avoidable political impasse. He emphasized that the people of Bayelsa West Senatorial District should focus on Dickson’s competence rather than zoning arrangements.
The former lawmaker highlighted Dickson’s achievements, including the Sagbama-Ekeremor Road and scholarships to indigent students.
He urged the anti-Dickson EKELGA group to support Dickson’s bid, noting that it would position him for a leadership role in the Senate.
Dauyegha also called on Governor Douye Diri to caution groups comprised of appointees in the Prosperity Government who are advocating for zoning, saying they should focus on their roles as academics rather than politics.
