Bauchi govt to construct new fire substation in Darazo

Plans have been announced by the State Government for the construction of a new, modern Fire and Rescue Substation along the Darazo-Ganjuwa road in Darazo LGA.

The announcement was made by the State Commissioner for the Ministry of Works and Transport, Ibrahim Gambo, during an assessment visit to the project site on Friday.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Governor Bala Mohammed-led administration’s commitment to continuing efforts to save lives and protect property across the state.

According to him, “The project is initiated by this administration to enhance the response time to fire-related disasters and to boost the efficiency and dependability of the state’s fire and rescue management system.”

Ibrahim Gambo Galadima stated that the on-site inspection was the first phase of a series of steps for the construction of the substation, which will improve the response time to distress calls from the communities in Darazo and Ganjuwa LGAs during emergency situations.

He noted that the project includes the construction of a fire bay, office space, appliances, and other necessary facilities.

Ibrahim Gambo also took the opportunity to commend the member representing the Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, for his recent donation of a brand new fire-rescue vehicle to support the government in his constituency. He described it as a well-deserved commitment.

He further expressed satisfaction with the readiness and compliance of the Darazo LGC towards the realization of the project, assuring that the initiative would be completed soon.

In his remarks, the Chairperson of Darazo LGA, Hon. Samaila Ya’u Sade, expressed his admiration for the development in Darazo and assured full support from his council to achieve the desired goal.

The Commissioner was accompanied during the site inspection by the Director of the State Fire Service, BLDR Dauda Bala Pali, officials from the Road Safety Corps, the Darazo Chairperson, and other management staff from Darazo LGC, as stated in a release by Muhammad Sani Yunusa, Information Officer.
