The political landscape in Ogun State received a significant boost as prominent philanthropist and grassroots mobiliser, Honourable Omotunde Ayoade (JP), officially joined the race to represent Ifo Constituency II in the Ogun State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general election.
Ayoade, who is widely known for his humanitarian activities through the Adbere Foundation, is contesting on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following growing calls from party leaders, youths, and community stakeholders for him to step into active legislative leadership.
His entrance into the race has generated considerable attention across Ifo Local Government, with supporters describing his candidacy as a reflection of years of community service, empowerment, and grassroots engagement.
As Chief Executive Officer of the Adbere Foundation, Ayoade has built a reputation for supporting education, youth empowerment, and welfare initiatives targeted at vulnerable residents within the constituency.
His interventions have included scholarships for pupils, financial support for widows and widowers, food relief programmes, and assistance for students and young entrepreneurs.
Speaking with supporters shortly after declaring his intention, Ayoade said his decision to contest was driven by the need to expand the impact of his service to the people through effective representation and people-oriented legislation.
