Nigeria’s real estate industry is experiencing a positive transformation as innovative technologies and practices continue to emerge. Real estate companies are harnessing the power of digital tools to enhance property management, promote transparency, and optimize processes.
Furthermore, the industry is seeing significant investment in sustainable and affordable housing solutions to cater to the increasing demand for housing. Although challenges such as limited infrastructure and financial accessibility exist, Nigeria’s real estate sector is on a promising path toward unlocking its full potential.
During a recent visit by the press to the Lagos office of AyHomes Investment Limited, MD/CEO Omogboye Saheed Ayodeji opened up about his journey from humble beginnings to leading one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing real estate firms.
Mr. Ayodeji showcased various completed and ongoing projects while emphasizing that anyone with a passion for quality and creating solutions can succeed in the real estate industry.
Ayodeji’s dedication to addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit has led to constructing over 1,000 housing units in the first phase of a large-scale project.
He highlighted upcoming events, including the launch of new projects and AyHomes’ participation in a property exhibition in London from April 20th to 22nd.
Reflecting on his personal journey, Ayodeji said, “I started real estate in 2017 as a realtor, marketing and selling for real estate companies in Lagos.
I registered AyHomes Investment Limited in 2018, and since then, we have over 35 estates across Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun state and still counting.” Today, AyHomes boasts over 20,000 registered realtors and more than 3,000 clients.
When asked about his challenges, Ayodeji cited funding as a significant hurdle but stressed that other challenges were typical for any business venture. He considers his greatest accomplishment to be “working to put smiles on people’s faces, achieving client satisfaction, and solving unemployment problems by engaging over 20,000 registered realtors marketing and working for the company.”
For aspiring professionals in the real estate field, Ayodeji advises them to “define and design your path, be yourself, and not be distracted by criticism.” He credits his success to his desire for value, freedom, and happiness, which he found in real estate.
