Asiwaju Fasuyi installed 4th Balogun of Holy Trinity Church

Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi was on Saturday installed as the new Balogun of the Cathedral of Holy Trinity, Omofe, Ilesa, Osun State.

The official installation was conducted by the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Revd Samuel Egbebunmi, in conjunction with other Bishops and Archbishops from other dioceses and archdioceses of the Anglican Communion in the South-West.

In his sermon at the event, Revd Egbebunmi declared that the choice of Asiwaju Fasuyi was based on his high level of integrity, uprightness and love for humanity.

According to him, Asiwaju Fasuyi came from a noble family; his father was also a dedicated leader in the church who left indelible legacies before he slept in the lord.

Many well-wishers in their congratulatory messages described Fasuyi’s installation as a round peg in the round hole.

Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II (CFR), the Owa Obokun Adimula and paramount ruler of Ijesaland, who also graced the occasion, extolled Fasuyi’s sterling performance and exemplary leadership qualities since he became the Asiwaju of Ijesaland.

The monarch expressed confidence that he would bring similar vigour to the service of God throughout his tenure as Balogun Ijo of the cathedral.

Similarly, the Ere-Ijesa community, in their congratulatory message, noted that Fasuyi had been instrumental to the development of Ijesa land, describing him as a pillar and custodian of great values in Ijesha land.

According to the community, the Cathedral had made the right choice in the appointment of Asiwaju Fasuyi as the Balogun Ijo.

Also, Dr Toyin Coker and Mrs Olusola Fasuyi-Coker, from the United Kingdom, in their comments affirmed that Asiwaju Fasuyi is a beacon to his generation, and that his conferment as the Balogun Ijo would be a blessing to the entire church community.

Speaking in the same vein, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi (MFR); Chief Remi and Chief (Mrs) Ajike Oyeyemi, and Otun Baba Egbe Ijo of the Cathedral, Prince Oluseyi Lufadeju, all declared that Asiwaju Fasuyi has the capacity to function as he had set amazing examples in the Anglican Communion and in Ijesha land.

They described his conferment as the Balogun Ijo as a well-deserved honour.

The new Balogun Ijo of the Cathedral of Holy Trinity, Asiwaju Fasuyi, in his comments said he considered the leadership position the church conferred on him as a privilege that he would not take for granted.

He thanked the entire church community and the church leadership for finding him worthy of the honour, affirming that his love for God and his desire to serve in His vineyard would help him to put his best into the service of God in the church.
