The Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF) has blamed the worsening insecurity and economic stagnation in the country on the incompetence of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
This is as it praised the governors under the PDP for their various achievements so far on the anniversary of their election.
A statement issued by the Director-General of the forum, Hon. Cyril Maduabum, on Sunday, asserted that the APC’s incompetence has plunged the country into economic stagnation and insecurity.
The forum led by Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State said the PDP governors on the other hand have demonstrated through impactful projects, policies, programmes and populist measures in their various states what good governance should be in Nigeria.
While urging them to continue with good governance, the forum said: “Your performance in office has laid the foundation for a democratic, people-centred, progressive, enlightened, patriotic, nationalistic, robust and problem-solving government at the centre in 2023 in a united, secure, educated, healthy, economically and technology strong, socially and politically stable Nigeria under God.
“The spate of commissioning of completed projects in all spheres and sectors in the various PDP controlled states in Nigeria is truly worthy of emulation.
“It is self-evident fact that the PDP governors are truly ambassadors of good governance and accountability. You are worthy examples of what leadership is all about: caring, dedicated and committed to the security and general wellbeing of all citizens in your various states.
“While congratulating your Excellencies, we are mindful of the very terrible problems caused by the APC administration as a result of sheer incompetence and lack of capacity which has plunged Nigeria into debilitating insecurity and economic stagnation.
“We implore you to continue with your patriotic duty in shunning partisanship by helping to steady the ship of the Nigerian state as Nigerians look up to you, the PDP governors, and indeed the PDP for salvation and redemption.
“We pray to Almighty God to give you the strength and wisdom to continue to excel in the provision of democratic benefits for Nigerians in your remaining years in office.”
