Recall the serving Senator Shehu Sani was earlier given automatic ticket by the Adam Oshiomole led executives.
However, the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s complaint over the issuance of automatic ticket to the embattled lawmaker, saying it was not only undemocratic but has no place in the party’s constitution.
Also, one of the aspirant (Uba Sani) went to court to prevent APC led election and INEC from conducting the primary unless all aspirants were given the enabling field to contest.
Apparently abiding by the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari to allow all aspirants contest the primary, the national headquarters revert its earlier decision and sent officials to conduct the primary for Kaduna Senatorial district.
In the rescheduled election, Four aspirants, Uba Sani, General Sani Saleh, Shamsudeen Shehu Giwa and Usman Ibrahim participated in the primary with Uba Sani seems to be in clear lead.
While, Senator Shehu Sani boycotted the rescheduled election describing it as a Kangaroo exercise.
As delegates from the seven local government areas that made up the senatorial district voted on Saturday, findings gathered that Uba Sani was in early lead.
Delegates from Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Giwa, Birnin Gwari, and Igabi voted for Uba Sani when the voting exercise commenced at 12.55pm
As at the time of filing this report, the co-ordinator of the Senate /House of Representatives primaries in Kaduna central, Professor Eddie Floyd, was yet to officially declare the result as he and his team were conducting the House of Representatives primaries.
A member of the committee had said when the all exercise is over “we will declare the winners of all the elections.”
