THE Apapa Customs Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has raked in the sum of N37,391,824,523.78 as revenue for the month of April 2019.
The Commands Public Relations Officer, DSC Nkiru Nwala who disclosed this recently said that the Controller, Comptroller Mohammed Abba Kura has changed his strategy to build on the existing standard in maximum revenue collection and has promised to renew his plan for optimum trade facilitation, thereby ensuring total compliance from stakeholders and as well frustrating every form of illegal activities as a driving force to greater productivity.
According to DSC Nwala, “The new management of Comptroller Abba Kura is devising a robust method to promote excellence through the Federal Government’s “Executive Directive” on the aspect of the Ease of Doing Business and by making the Command to be more business friendly for investors to patronize.
“The Controller has also keyed into government’s policy on fast track of cargo clearance at seaports by ensuring International best practice.”
It will be recalled that in January 2019, the Command polled N32.5billion as revenue into Federal Government coffers.
In February 2019, a total of N27.5billion was recorded while N34.6bn was collected in March.
