Police-led security force in Anambra State have killed one gunman along the Igbo Ukwu/Ezinifite Uga axis of Aguata Local Government Area.
The force, while on patrol within Aguata LGA, received information about suspected armed men sighted in a black Pardo Jeep along the Igbo Ukwu/Ezinifite Uga route.
The spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, stated that the operatives, taking an offensive approach to the scene, engaged the armed men in a gun battle, resulting in the demobilization of one of the assailants, while others escaped.

He also reported that the security forces recovered two AK-47 rifles, one pump-action gun, two magazines loaded with live ammunition, fifteen live cartridges, one black Pardo Jeep with two different plate numbers, two police body armor vests, three face caps, one black handbag, and various types of criminal charms.
According to the PPRO, clearance operations are still ongoing, and further details will be communicated.
