The APC accused the APGA candidate, Governor Willie Obiano, of deceiving the electorate, ahead of the election.
Chairman of the Dr Tony Nwoye Campaign organisation, Ossy Ezenwa, said Obiano warned the people of the state not to be carried away by Obiano’s antics, which he alleged was to deny the people of Anambra and the entire South-East, the Federal Government’s presence in the region if re-elected.
“Our people have had enough of APGA misrule in our state and they are waiting for the real progressive party to take over the state, and that Obiano, should not be addressed as a progressive fellow,” he added.
Reacting however, the chairman of the incumbent governor Campaign group, Chief Victor Umeh, said Obiano should not be made the issue, as Anambra people would rather want to know what each candidate had to offer them.
Meanwhile, former Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo, has expressed optimism over the peaceful and successful conduct of the November 18 governorship election.
He said there was no need to panic, urging the electorate in the state to freely come out en masse to exercise their franchise.
Delivering a message at a prayer rally by the Anglican Church, at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Nebo urged the electorate not to allow themselves to be led astray, but to be focused as they vote for the right candidate.
He described the theme of the rally, Help from Above, as apt and timely,
In his remarks, Archbishop, Province of Niger and Bishop of Aguata diocese, Most Reverend Christian Efobi, enjoined Christians to shun idolatry, neo-peganism manifesting as cultural revivals, as well as apathy to Christian principles.
