Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has warmly congratulated Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige on the occasion of his 71st birthday anniversary.
Dr Chris Ngige, a former Governor of Anambra State from May 29, 2003, to March 17, 2006, and the immediate past Minister of Labour and Productivity, as well as a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was praised by the Governor as a distinguished son of Anambra State whose legacy of dedicated service to the nation and humanity is deserving of commendation.
Governor Soludo also acknowledged the former Governor’s notable contributions to the development of Anambra State.
Additionally, Governor Soludo extended his warmest congratulations to his immediate predecessor, Chief Willie Obiano, on the occasion of his 68th birthday anniversary.
Chief Willie Obiano, who served as the Governor of Anambra State from March 17, 2014, to March 17, 2022, received a commendation from Governor Soludo for his contributions to the development and progress of the state. The Governor also highlighted Chief Obiano’s steadfast commitment to democracy and good governance.
On behalf of the government and the people of Anambra State, Governor Soludo conveyed his best wishes to both individuals as they celebrate their 71st and 68th birthdays respectively.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, also extended his congratulations to former Governor Willie Obiano, praising his tenure as a fulfilling period of public service.
Hon. Udeze described Chief Obiano as a dedicated and visionary politician whose leadership positively impacted the lives of the people of Anambra State.
The Speaker highlighted Chief Obiano’s significant achievements, including the establishment of an airport, which made him the second Governor in the Igbo land after the late Chief Sam Mbakwe of Imo State to accomplish such a feat.
In a similar vein, the Speaker extended felicitations to another former Governor of the State, Dr Chris Ngige, as he marked his 71st birthday.
Rt. Hon. Udeze characterized the former Minister of Labour and Productivity as a pragmatic and selfless politician who has achieved greatly. He prayed for God’s blessings and more fruitful years ahead for Dr Chris Ngige.
These congratulatory messages were communicated in statements signed and released to journalists in Awka on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretaries of the Governor and the Speaker, Mr Christian Aburime and Mr Emma Madu, respectively.
