As reported by the Nigerian Tribune on Thursday, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State paid a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in London on Friday.
A photograph of the visit was tweeted Friday evening by the APC United Kingdom showing Buhari, Amosun, a lady and another man discussing in a sitting room.
The photo was retweeted by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu.
Wearing a brown kaftan with a white cap, the president looked calm as the lady conversed with him.
An official of the Ogun State government (name withheld) told the Saturday Tribune that his governor was in London to visit the president who, he said, was “fine.”
The Nigerian Tribune had, on Thursday, reported that governors would send a delegation to Buhari in London as apprehension grew on the state of health of the president.
Information minister, Lai Muhammed, however, on Thursday disagreed with the report saying that there was no plan by any governor to visit Buhari in London.
“I think it is very much in order to use this opportunity to debunk the report in a section of the press today (Thursday) that Governors are meeting in Abuja and they will at the end of the meeting send an emissary to London to see President Buhari.
“I want to say categorically and emphatically that there is no iota of truth in this. Governors are not meeting here in Abuja because there is no need for it and there is no plan to send any emissary to London to see the President,” he said.
