MUSLIMS have been implored to increase their investment in the cause of Allah in order to attain His pleasure in this world and hereafter.
The Amir, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria (AMJN), Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Alatoye, gave the admonition during a tripartite event that was held at the Apata circuit of the organisation in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The event included the inauguration of a two-storey mosque, inauguration of a mission house at the Jakata area and walimatul-Qur’an for 39 students.
Alhaji Alatoye commended the donor of the mosque, describing his gesture as a wise and effective way to inherit Allah’s paradise.
He called on other faithful to always strive to be part of such highly rewarding acts of worship.
The mission house is a three-bedroom building attached to the new Ahmadiyya Jama’at Mosque in Jakata. The two-storey Ahmadiyya Mosque, Apata, with state-of-the-art facilities replaces the old mosque which was built 20 years ago.
The Amir appealed to Islamic teachers not to overburden parents during walimat celebrations and make acquisition of the knowledge of the Qur’an more attractive to children and everyone.
He lamented that many parents go into debts for walimat celebrations because of excessive demands from some Islamic teachers.
The Ahmadiyya leader urged parents to enroll their children for the learning and memorisation of the Holy Qur’an for their all-round education and enrichment of their spiritual lives.
In a remark, the Apata Circuit President, Alhaji Teslim Oniyide, described the three events as landmark achievements for the circuit and Ahmadi Muslims in general.
Speaking on ‘The Importance of Seeking Knowledge of the Holy Qur’an’ in a lecture at the walimatul-Qur’an, Ustaz Shamsudeen Ojo stressed that Qur’an remained a compatible constitution from early human existence until the end of the world.
Ustaz Ojo said that it was essential for those with knowledge of the Qur’an to function as perfect models for societal reformation by ensuring obedience to Allah’s injunctions in all their engagements.
He called on the parents of the graduands to encourage their children to preserve their memory of the Qur’and further their knowledge by learning the science of explanation of the sacred scripture.
Two of the graduands, Master Royan Oniyide and Miss Zinat Popoola, promised to prioritise the recitation of the Qur’an during their five daily prayers and other dealings.
