With the president for a meeting at the presidential villa, Abuja on Wednesday were; Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Umar Ganduje (Kano) and Mohammed Abubakar (Bauchi).
On Tuesday, those who met with the president over the same issue were; Jubrilla Bindow of Adamawa state and Ibikunle Amosu of Ogun state.
This followed last week’s meeting of nine APC Governors with the president.
Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Okorocha confirmed that they were there over the crisis emanating from the primaries as well as to congratulate the president on emerging as the APC presidential candidate for the 2019 election.
He stressed the need for the APC to remain united going into the election, hoping that a way would be found to unite all contending factions before the elections.
The Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum said: “We are here on delegation of governors to come and congratulate Mr President having emerged as the presidential candidate of APC in the 2019 election.
“We believe it’s a victory well deserved and the honour we have given him as governors and as delegates to our national convention having chose him as our consensus candidate reaffirm our confidence in the man President Muhammadu Buhari and this we want to take till February 2019 when we will be facing the general election and we have come to request from Mr President for a date for governors to come together with our followers and supporters to further inform the world of our readiness to deliver him in the 2019 election.

“This basically is the message we have come and to say that Mr President is more than ever ready for the entire exercise.
“Our election this time will not engage in castigations. We will be talking on issues, Nigerians are tired of political abuses, what we want to be talking about is issues and track records of people involved in our elections.
“Nigerians are very wise now, before they elect anybody, they will ask questions, what has been your track record, who were you before and who are you now and everything about you.
“For that reason, we are confident that 2019, APC will pull through.
“We have also looked at issues concerning our primaries. In every democracy, expect some kind of disagreements and we have kindly requested that something be done to bring all warring factions together so we can have a united party to face the challenges ahead and we are happy that, that will soon take place.
“Most of the problems have been resolved except for one or two states where we have issues.
“Where it becomes more difficult, we asked for Mr President’s intervention in the matter.”
Asked what specifically they Governors were asking from the president, Okorocha added: “Reconciliation. What is important to us is that we must not go into this battle a divided family and we want to make sure that all governors are intact, all National Assembly members are intact while going into this battle.
“We will never speak differently, we will speak as united leaders of the party.”
On how the party will handle a tough-taking Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and whether the APC was jittery, Okorocha responded: “I don’t know about talking tough. We can’t be jittery. History is there to speak, history is very important.
“As I said, we are not going to get involved in this verbal war with anybody, we will be talking about issues.
“If you say, look you are not good, we will tell you what we can do and what we cannot do and what others cannot do.
“So, APC is not going to engage in those kinds of talk show, but we discuss on what our party can do for the people.
On the president’s response to their visit, Okorocha remarked that he was happy.
“The President is quite happy with the whole outing and he is looking for a date to invite the governors to celebrate him and tell the world about our joy and happiness that he emerged as our presidential flag bearer which is victory assured 2019,” he stated.
