Ademola Babalola, a correspondent of the Fresh FM, Abeokuta, has emerged the Chairman of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council.
Babalola polled a total of 176 votes to defeat his opponent, the incumbent chairman, Adewunmi Faniran, of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), who polled only six votes.

Announcing the result of the election which took place at the NUJ Press Centre, Iyanganku, Ibadan, on Wednesday, the Chairman, electoral committee, said all the elected officers emerged having satisfied the electoral process by scoring the highest number of votes in the election.
The newly elected officers have been immediately sworn-in by Barrister Adebayo Salawu.
