A Senior Special Assistant to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Alhaji Yusuf Dingyadi has told the Sokoto State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to either accept the victory of the governor as the will of God or go the tribunal.
Dingyadi, stated that while speaking to Journalists, attributed the second term victory of the Governor to “divine intervention” despite the use of federal might and thugs by governors from his neighbouring states to defeat gov Tambuwal at the supplementary elections.
According to Dingyadi “the leadership of APC in Sokoto State should accept the will of God as well as the will of the people over the outcome of the supplementary elections. The people of Sokoto State had prayed for 10 days, day and night prior to the election day for God to intervene. And God accepted the prayers of the people and return Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for the second term.”
“It is incumbent of the APC in Sokoto State to accept the will of God and the will of the people and congratulate the Governor rather than raising unnecessary tension in the state.”
“If they cannot accept the will of God, then they should go the tribunal and present their fact rather than unleashing their thugs and lies against our party members.”
“The use of force by the federal government during the supplementary elections in Sokoto State was an attacked on the good people of our State.”
“Sending about 10 unit of Mobile Police, drafting 250 personnel of the DSS, changing of Garrison Commander of the Nigeria Army, transferring two Commissioners of Police just two days to elections, use of money from Governors of Neigbouring states of Zamfara and Kebbi States could not give them the Governorship, because Tambuwal had already depended on God for his victory.”
“Governors Yari Abdullaziz of Zamfara and Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi States were in Sokoto State on the day of the supplementary elections to manipulate the result, but, God never allowed them to succeed despite deploying large sum of cash to the state.
“Tambuwal’s victory is a divine intervention and it is only God that can decide the fate of the Governor not Federal government might and not even the APC in Sokoto State. So, APC must stop spreading lies with an intention to tarnish the image of our Governor.
“We have won election with a slim margin of 342 and we are happy because it shows we did not manipulate the process to our advantage” he said.
Dingyadi further describe campaign of calumny and lies against the revered Caliphate and the person of His Eminence Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar sponsored by some group of people in the APC to media as great disservice to political unity and cohesion in the state.
He condemn the use of media by APC to fabricate lies against the Sultan over an alleged accusation that he have sympathy to PDP as a gimmick of propaganda.
