There are problems in almost every existing tribe in the country and the Tiv nation is indeed not an exception but its issues are more endemic and extremely pathetic. Therefore, the leaders in Tiv land should hurriedly do something to address the rapid growing detestation, cupidity and egotism in the land to thwart the seeming extinction of the Tiv race in the near future.
The political disunity, the corruption and the killings in the state appeared to be the major challenges facing the Tiv and the state at large but the issue here is not any of the above mention.
What next for Saraki in Kwara?
Tiv sons and daughters that are in positions to offer or assist their people to secure employments into government and private offices have not been doing so and many of them have justified their action by accusing their people of being stubborn, betrayers and many more. In summary, they said their fellow Tiv are bad and they cannot take any risk towards offering a job to a fellow Tiv or assisting any of them to secure one because of the bad experiences they had in the past with some of them.
As a result of that, when you go to an office where a Tiv man or woman is heading as a boss, you will not see any Tiv son or daughter working there as a staff.
Betrayers are everywhere and they can be found in every tribe, stubborn people are everywhere and they can also be found in every tribe, criminals are everywhere and they can as well be seen in every tribe, so the prostitutes, the assassins and the rest. It will be a lack of exposure for anyone that will distance his or herself from his ethnic family because some members of his tribe are what I have mentioned above and more.
There are cases of unemployment and total lack of development everywhere in the country but it is worst in Benue State and particularly in Tiv land due to the severe bad leadership and lack of support of the Tiv youth by their people in positions of leadership and authority.
The Tor Tiv and the council of Tiv elders should look into this before it is too late.
