He gave the admonition while speaking with TribuneOnline on Friday, noting that the anti-graft body would be erring on the side of the law by continuing to hold on to the immediate past governor of Ekiti State for alleged financial sleaze.
Recalled that former Governor Fayose had, in keeping to his word, submitted himself at the EFCC head office, Abuja on Tuesday, but the anti-graft agency has since then been holding to the former governor.
Honourable Ayodele Michael described the action of the EFCC as unlawful, admonishing that Fayose should be charged to court if truly there were damning and incriminating evidence against him.
“Former Governor Fayose made it known, few weeks to the expiration of his tenure of office, that he would make himself available to EFCC to clear his name of alleged financial misappropriation.
“True to his word, he was at the EFCC head office, Abuja on October 16, the very day a new governor was sworn in Ekiti State, to render an account of Hus stewardship while he was the governor of the State.

“Rather than charging him to court, since EFCC claimed it has damaging evidence against him, they have continued to detain the former governor and denied him his fundamental human rights.
“I am imploring the anti-graft agency to either charge Fayose to court if it truly has enough evidence against him or allow him to go home a free man if they found nothing against him,” he said.
Ayodele Michael, a former lawmaker who represented Oye I Constituency in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, also said former Vice President Atiku Abubakar stood in a better stead to save the country from the myriads of problems confronting it.
“By May 29, 2019, it would be four years that President Muhammadu Buhari has been in the saddle. We all know where he has taken us so far. It is clear that we, as a people, have nothing to show as benefits from the Buhari-led administration.
“I will only implore the APC-led Federal Government at the federal level to accept the fact that it cannot give what it does not have. What we are witnessing is a complete failure in all ramifications of our national life.
“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would make a better president from 2019. He is more organised; he is a successful private businessman and he has, over the years, steadily demonstrated that he had a full grasp of our national problems.
“For almost four years now, President Buhari has been telling us that he is waging a war against corruption, but where has that lead us? After four years, he should hand over the reins of office. He should allow Atiku to successfully fight against the pervading scourging poverty in the land,” he said.
