Speaking with the Tribune Online, the principal of the private school, Mr Kevin Massey, said the school decided to extend the Scholarship Examination to indigent and poor students’ in the state as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
According to him, about 200 primary pupils sat for the examination on February 11, 2020, adding that the school was searching for the best among the pupils in order to give them quality education and free entry into the school.
He also said that the gesture was extended to secondary school students in the 16 Local Government Areas of the state as they sat for their examination on February 15, 2020.
“The scholarship awards for primary six pupils going to Junior Secondary School 1 is worth N9 million each, while Junior Secondary School 3 students going to Senior Secondary 1 scholarship is worth N4.5million each,” he stated.

Massey, who said that shortlisted candidates would write second scholarship examination on March 21, 2020, added that oral interview for the shortlisted candidates will hold between April 11, 2020, and April 15, 2020.
Representatives of the state Ministry of Education, led by an Assistant Director, Alhaji Suleiman Abdulraheem Ayedun, commended the management of the school for complementing the state government’s efforts at providing quality education in the 16 Local Government Area of the state.
He said the examination would not only expose participating students to the general examination experiences, adding that it would also broaden their knowledge.
Ayedun appealed to well-meaning Nigerians, corporate bodies and private individuals to emulate the good deed of the school by giving less privileged opportunity to have a free education in private schools.
A teacher, Arandun Grammar School, Arandun in the Irepodun Local Government Area of the state, Mr Williams Adefila, appreciated the good gesture of the school, saying that it was a good development to give less privileged best education.
The representative of the Ministry of Education at the programme includes; Hajia Tanko Baraka, Mallam Suleiman Opoola and Mrs Taiye Akanbi.
