THE Edo State command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has released details of Thursday road accident that occurred in Abudu, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state, informing that 22 people were burnt to death.
The command also stated that three people were rescued from the inferno that accompanied the accident, restating that no bullion van was involved in the accident as widely speculated.
This was contained in a text message by the spokesman for the Edo State Sector Command of the FRSC, George Otoaviokhai.
Findings by our correspondent showed that seven vehicles and a motorcycle were involved in the accident that created traffic jam on the Benin-Asaba expressway on Thursday.
The vehicles were three buses, one Sienna, one truck, one tanker and Toyota Corolla car.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that a mass burial was being planned for those who lost their lives in the road accident as many of the victims were burnt beyond recognition.
