Speaking during the official declaration of his intention to contest 2019 governorship election in Ilorin on Monday, Mallam Mustapha called for cooperation and sincerity of purpose among the aspirants.
Mustapha, who was the former national deputy chairman of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) said that there was need for them to work together so that the best could emerge for people to get the best.
“We are appealing that all hands should be on deck for us to achieve the big project of fixing Kwara state”, he said.

The governorship hopeful, who said that he had identified challenges confronting the state in the last 58 years, added that his team had articulated how to offer solutions in the areas of education, skill acquisition/entrepreneurship, health from basic to tertiary level, infrastructure deficit, civil servants welfarism, youth development, and agricultural empowerment.
Also, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Hon. Aliyu Ahman-Pategi, has called on co-contestants in the governorship election to support whoever emerges as the PDP flag bearer after the party primaries.
The governorship hopeful, who is a two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Pategi/Edu/Moro constituency at the House described himself as the most experienced among aspirants that had declared their intention.
The politician also said that if he emerged the governor, he would run an administration that would be people-centred and making impact in all sectors.
“If I secure the mandate, I will put the people first. My programmes will focus on agriculture and rural development, health, education, employment, women and youth development as well as infrastructural maintenance and development.
“To realise these core objectives, my administration will employ innovative and efficient protocols which will ensure effective delivery of services to the people. The civil service will be well positioned to deliver on our mandate while committing to, and ensuring, even development throughout the state ” he stated.
