THE police on Monday arraigned two men in an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ondo State over threat to the life of one Festus Oyewole.
The defendants, Duyigbemi Omoge, 53 and Rotimi Adegboro, 29 of no fixed address, were standing trial in court bordering on a two-count charge of breach of peace and threat to life.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi told the court that the defendants on Oct. 16 at Elikanah House in Okitipupa did conspire to cause a breach of public peace over a land dispute.
Orogbemi said that the defendants also threatened the complainant if he failed to reach a certain agreement with them on the land.

He said that the offences were contrary and punishable under Sections 249 (1) and 249 (d), Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State 2006.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against them.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Dickson Ogunfuyi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 and a surety each in like sums.
He ordered that the surety must present one-year tax clearance as part of the bail condition and he adjourned the case until Dec. 31 for further hearing.
