The Sector Head of Operations, Bauchi Command of the Corps, Paul Gua who disclosed this Monday during an interaction in his office in, said that 5 mobile courts were established at different locations in the state to try the offenders.
He said, “The arrest of the traffic offenders were made from the 20th of December 2017-15th January 2018. The locations in which the mobile courts were established included Toro, Darazo, Bara town, near Gombe state, Alkaleri and Bauchi.”
He added that “The traffic offences included the making of phone calls while driving, over speeding, overloading, using of worn-out tyres amongst others. Out of the 178 traffic offenders, 165 have been convicted by the state judicial commission while 7 persons have been discharged and acquitted” he said.
The Sector Head of Operations further said that the FRSC in the state during the period successfully conducted 6 motor park rallies, 6 radio enlightenment programmes and 1 TV programme traffic enlightenment program aimed at enlightening the general public on traffic rules and regulations.
Paul Gua then said that the Corps was working to achieve its strategic goals for the year 2018 which include, enhanced communication and social media technology, an improvement on FRSC law enforcement and rescue services, enhanced professionalism, promotion of businesses and stakeholders cooperation.
