The lawmaker representing Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo federal constituency in Oyo state, Hon. Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed has facilitated and commissioned three blocks of classrooms at two different secondary schools and a primary school within his first 100 days in office.
In a statement by the special assistant on Media to the lawmaker, Ahmed Mustapha said that the commissioning of the three blocks of classrooms, located at Oloye Grammar High School in Igbeti and Ariwajoye Secondary School, Sooro, Kishi, as well as AUD Primary School, Modeke, Igboho, was aimed to enhance educational infrastructure and opportunities.
The statement, which said that the educational provision was capable of improving the learning environment for youth in the area, added that the lawmaker had taken significant strides in the first 100 days of his tenure, leaving an indelible mark of service, dedication, and progress.
Also, in his determination to drive transformation and community service in his constituency, Mohammed has appointed 17 aides to assist him in carrying out quality representation.
“One of the cornerstones of Hon POLAM’s strategy for effective representation and service delivery is the appointment of a team of dedicated individuals. These appointments signify a crucial step towards better representation and enhanced service delivery to our beloved constituency.
“During the inauguration meeting, Hon. Mohammed extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed aides and emphasized the significance of diligent and selfless service to the Federal Constituency.
“He urged his team to mirror his unwavering dedication to the constituency’s progress”, the statement said.
Beyond assembling a team of dedicated professionals, the statement said that Hon. Mohammed has made substantial progress in various key areas within the first 100 days of his tenure:
“Economic Empowerment: Over 700 people in the Old Irepo constituency have received cash grants, while over 300 farmers in the Old Irepo Constituency have been empowered with various agricultural items, enhancing livelihoods and economic sustainability.
“Job Creation: Not less than eight Federal government jobs have been secured for constituents, contributing to reduced unemployment in the constituency.
“Infrastructure Development: Hon. POLAM sponsored a motion on an abandoned Kishi-Igboho road project, currently under consideration by the House Committee on Works, addressing critical infrastructure challenges.
“Community Support: He donated a vehicle to United Workers in Igbeti, and his generosity extended to providing land worth N750,000 to the Association of Muslim Students in Old Irepo.
“Education Empowerment: A Master’s Degree Scholarship was awarded to a First-class graduate, and Hon Polam has pledged to continue this culture of educational empowerment throughout his tenure.
“Community Welfare: Donations totaling N1.2 million were made to the Muslim Community in Kishi, and N1.5 million was contributed to the Owode Central Mosque in Igboho for borehole drilling and installation.
“Healthcare: Hon. Polam assisted in covering the N600,000 medical bill of Ms. Ganiyat Gbadegesi, exemplifying his commitment to the well-being of his constituents.
“Empowerment: In a noteworthy initiative, he donated 20 motorcycles to the Association of Old Irepo Okada riders in Sagamu under the “Ride To Own scheme,” promoting economic empowerment and self-reliance.
“Local Government Support: Three motorcycles were presented, one to each of the three local governments, further enhancing grassroots mobility and connectivity”.
