The Zaar Youth Development Association (ZAYODA), Bogoro Branch, commends the Bauchi State Government for its steps and efforts towards the realisation of the long-awaited Zaar Chiefdom.
ZAYODA particularly appreciates the government’s engagement with all sides in Zaar land with the aim of actualizing the Chiefdom.
In a communique issued at the end of its 2024 First Quarter meeting held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, ZAYODA stated, “We urge Zaar youths, citizens, and their neighbors to support the government in this direction for the development of the area.”
The meeting, held today, Sunday, March 3, 2024, outlined the following resolutions:
The participants expressed concern about the current economic hardship in the country, especially its impact on youths, and encouraged Zaar youths to embrace agriculture, education, and other skills for self-sustenance and empowerment, aiming to reduce idleness, hunger, and poverty.
The attendees commended various efforts of the Bauchi State Government, led by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, in the state’s development.
ZAYODA expressed satisfaction with Bogoro’s share, particularly in the construction of the Mallar-Lusa-Bogoro road, Boi-Tapshin road, and the newly awarded Boi-Gambar-Sara-Marti-Lere roads, among other projects.
The meeting called on youths to support and cooperate with the government in the implementation of its projects.
Furthermore, the meeting expressed concern about the activities of some members perpetrating violence to serve their selfish interests or those of certain individuals. ZAYODA urged its members to embrace peace and amicable dispute resolution through established institutions and authorities, rather than taking the law into their own hands.
Members also expressed serious concern about situations where people initiate activities and programs without involving their leadership. The resolution is to welcome any youth-focused program or activity only if its leadership and other stakeholders are involved to ensure success.
The communique was signed by Comrade Yawa Habila Ndit, ZAYODA Chairman, Bogoro Branch.
