State Governors from across Nigeria pay tribute to the late Rt Hon. Umar Ghali Na’abba, the former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, whose untimely demise at the age of 65 has left a profound void in the nation’s democratic fabric.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, expressed deep sorrow, describing Na’abba’s passing as not only tragic but a colossal loss to the entire nation.
Governor Bello acknowledged Na’abba’s influential role as one of the country’s most impactful legislators, emphasising his unwavering integrity and commitment to transparent governance.
Echoing Governor Bello’s sentiments, Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf hailed Na’abba as a true democrat and champion of democracy.
Governor Yusuf recognised Na’abba’s relentless efforts in upholding democratic values and the rule of law, emphasising the irreparable void left by his demise.
Similarly, Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Kano State Government, recognising Na’abba’s colossal contributions to Nigeria’s democracy.
Governor Bago praised Na’abba’s courage and dynamism as a legislator, acknowledging his significant impact on the political landscape of the country.
Rt Hon Umar Gali Na’abba, who served as the 8th Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003, is remembered by leaders and citizens alike for his remarkable dedication to democracy and good governance.
