A 47-year-old woman, Ajasa Bose, who allegedly hit Halimat Adejare with an iron rod, was on Wednesday brought before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun.
Bose, who resides at No. 28 Sotomi St., Itele Ota, is facing a charge of assault, to which she pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Mr Chudu Gbesi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Jan. 21 at about 12.05p.m at Lafenwa, Itele, Ota.

Gbesi said that the accused assaulted the complainant when she hit her with an iron rod over a quarrel they had.
He said that the offence contravened Section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr S.S. Shotayo, granted the accused bail of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Shotayo said that the sureties should reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must be gainfully employed.
He said the sureties should also show evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
The case was adjourned until Jan. 24 for mention.
