In an exclusive interview, Olori Ronke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi, the fifth wife of Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, shared her heartfelt reasons for marrying the monarch, revealing a fascinating journey of friendship and understanding.

A London University law graduate and founder of Africa Fashion Week London in 2011, she knew the Ooni a year before he became king in 2015.

Their friendship blossomed over the years, leading to their marriage in October 2022.

The CEO of Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) expressed her fondness for her husband, recounting their decade-long friendship.

“I have been his friend, you know. We’ve been friends for ten years and celebrated ten years of friendship this year,” she told PREMIUM TIMES.

Olori Ronke, having known the Ooni both before and after his ascension to the throne, described her experience as his wife as blissful.

“It’s been good, you know, it’s different, but it’s been good. Because I have been his friend, you know, we’ve been friends for ten years, we celebrated a decade of friendship this year. So, it’s more of a friendship, you know, so it’s been good,” she said.

Besides her role as the wife of the traditional ruler of Ife, Olori Ronke is also an entrepreneur dedicated to promoting African fashion and empowering youths.
