THE presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, is best suited to govern the country from 2019 because of his knowledge of the economy and his ability to unite people from all parts of Nigeria.
Making this assertion during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, a group, which goes by the name “Atikulating a New Nigeria,” also insisted that the 2019 general election must be free, fair and credible.
The group leader, Chief Chukwuma Chiboka, who read a prepared text, said Atiku has the requisite expertise to draw the country out of the economic quagmire it has found itself.
He said: “Nigeria needs a President who understands the economy and is an excellent talent hunter, knowing how to put round pegs in round holes, not square pegs in round holes.
“Aso Rock should accommodate someone who knows how to build our nation and unite us, not tear us along ethno-religious lines. We cannot be treated as sub-humans or animals in our own country simply because we do not sleep with the broom as pillows.

“On a lighter note, even the people who carry the broom use sophisticated vacuum cleaners in their homes and offices, so why the hypocrisy and deceit.
“Inconclusive election has become a recurring decimal in our political space and it seems to have become the trump card of the party in power.
“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has a track record of excellently managing men resources, as proven in his various successful businesses, he is a totally detribalise Nigerian.
“Married to a Yoruba woman, a Fulani woman, a Hausa woman and lastly but not the least, an Igbo woman, regimented dictator, noteworthy is the fact that he understands the intricate dynamics of the organised private sector and the informal sector, he is an excellent talent hunter and manager.
“His versatile experience in the public service sector would definitely come in handy as he takes over the leadership of Nigeria come 2019 and he is a consummate Democrat.”
On the conduct of the 2019 election, Chiboka stated: “We insist that elections in 2019 must be free, fair, credible and visibly so. Neither security agents nor non-state actors should be allowed to harass, intimidate and brutalise voters, opposition party agents and INEC officials.”
While calling on women, youths and all Nigerian of voting age to join in the move to actualise “the Nigerian dream” of having Atiku as the next president, he assured that if elected, the former Vice President will not marginalise any part of the country.”
The group leader further stated: “This President will not marginalise any ethnic group; this President cannot be taken or held captive by any ungodly cabal. He will display frontline leadership like he is wont to do and would not outsource his Presidential powers to surrogates.
“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (Waziri Adamawa) has the courage and political will to lead Nigeria into the future: President Olusegun Obasanjo and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had the best economic team; taking Nigeria out of debt quagmire.”
The group berated President Muhammadu Buhari for the way he has governed the country, saying: “However, the present administration under Mohammadu Buhari has chosen to drive Nigeria deeper into debt, locally and internationally hence enslaving the young and unborn generation.
“If we may ask, what has this administration done right? They claim they have put infrastructures, where are the infrastructures? What are the effects of the so-called infrastructure on our GDP?
“The truth is Nigerians are dying; the health sector is in shambles and education in the doldrums. Suffice it to say that a President who believes that women should be in “za oza room” and who refers to resilient, intelligent and hardworking young Nigerians as lazy is an embarrassment to conscience, logic and reason.
“The president must be told to either sack himself or wait to be voted out. It is our informed position, that Nigeria and Nigerians deserve to catch up with other advanced economies and not be running in a political treadmill or frolicking in a swivel chair like the pathetic and Humpty Dumpty administration which they want us to celebrate.
“With Atiku Abubakar as President, we would begin the journey of Nigeria’s strategic socio-economic emancipation, put the economy on sure footing, bring back the middle class, restore the dignity of labour and ensure gender parity and youth inclusiveness in governance and government.”
