Nigeria born sound engineer, Whobaadblood (Ikemesit Nkereuwem-Tim) has won the sound engineer of the year award at the 2024 The League of Extraordinary Achievers Awards.
The award which was held at Hotel 17, Tafawa Balewa street, Kaduna State on December 1, 2024 attracted senior officers at the Nigerian army, celebrities, Nollywood actors and actresses. Nigeria iconic athlete Samuel Ogazi and revered media house Independent Television/Radio, Benin City were some of the awardees at the event.
Whobaadblood’s recent “Afrocentric EP” has gained viral airplay on major radio stations in Kaduna, Abuja, Lagos and other parts of the Country giving the EP a grande reception by artistes even within just it’s first week of release. The EP on Spotify alone garnered about 3,000 plays in its first week too while the 3rd track titles ‘Jukpa featuring A6ixx has gained popularity on Instagram and X being used by users for posts and reels. The EP has also enjoyed tremendous airplay on CD Baby as well as other musical platforms. Afrocentric EP has been praised by fans and music critics alike. WhoBaadBlood is building in the momentum as he is currently working on releasing another project come first quarter of next Year. He is already in the studio making some records for his yet to be named project.
Whobaadblood was born in Etinan, Akwa Ibom State, barely four decades ago and has always had a passion for creativity, art, entertainment and sports. Beyond being a sound engineer who has worked with arrays of Nigerian musicians, he is the brain behind Sneaker Fest, an event which has been running for the past four years. SneakerFest encompasses arts, fashion, music, dance and sport.
It will be recalled that in June 2024, Whobaadblood won the creative director of the year at the Golden Stars Award following the mega success recorded by SneakerFest in December 2023 bringing big global giants like Nike onboard as a sponsor. His ingenuity is remarkably fusing Arts, Entertainment, Music, Fashion and Sports in SneakerFest where creative youths are empowered and celebrated while pushing for self- reliance, entrepreneurship and upholding of the African Arts and Lifestyle. SneakerFest 2023 brought out notable Nigerian youths in all facets of life like award winning rapper Ladipoe, R&B singer Wurld with DMV rapper Dremo was one of the judges at the rap battle contest, Arts and Fashion icons like Holar of Lagos, YhemoLee and Entrepreneur White Lion were also present plus the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende.
Now in it fourth year, the League of Extraordinary Achievers Awards celebrate exceptional individuals like Nollywood actors like Segun Arinze, Francis Duru, popular On Air Personality, Nedu, Super Eagles players like Umar Sadiq, Simon Moses, comedian Julius Agwu, Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani and his predecessor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai amongst others.
