Oyo State Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Professor Daud Shangodoyin, has said that Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration will be bullish about tackling the road infrastructure deficit in the State.
Responding to the Nigerian Tribune on the dilapidation of several roads across the state, just after his swearing-in, Shangodoyin said the state government has drawn up a list of intracity and access roads, especially in Ibadan that renovation work would begin on.
This, he said, would be complemented by the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) that Makinde had given a renewed mandate to fill as many potholes across the State as possible.
Speaking further, Shangodoyin added that the Makinde administration has an agenda in its second term to reduce the road infrastructure deficit in the state by fixing several dilapidated trunk B, trunk C roads.
“We will start working on the intra roads and access roads to close our infrastructure deficit.
“His Excellency has mandated us to focus on that. As a matter of fact, we have a survey of the areas we will start working on, especially in the Ibadan metropolis.
“Also, you must have heard from His Excellency that the OYSROMA should come out now to do the potholes.
“We will be bullish about that to make sure we reduce the deficit as much as possible,” Shangodoyin said.
