PRESIDENT Muhammad Buhari has reiterated the commitment of his APC led Federal Government to continue to fight corruption in all ramifications just as he reassured Nigerians that the administration will do more to make democracy thrive.
The President who was in Bauchi to flag off campaign for the APC Candidate, Lawal Yahaya Gumau in the Bauchi south senatorial by-election called on the people to continue to support the APC led administration in its quest to bequeath a lasting democratic rule in the country.
The President also declared that the APC will not let the electorate down just as he assured that all party members will be given equal opportunity in the running of the party.
In his own speech earlier on, National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole declared that the present spate of defections from the party has clearly demonstrated that some people only care about themselves but not the common man.
Adams Oshiomhole added that the APC led administration will not relent in its fight against corruption saying, “no matter what they do and no matter where they run to, the long arms of the law will catch up with them.”
The APC chairman further assured that internal democracy will thrive within the party no matter who is involved calling on genuine party members to embrace the Democratic changes in the affairs of the party.
Bauchi state Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar while welcoming the President and other party members to Bauchi declared that Bauchi state remains an APC state and it will be replicated in the 2019 general election.
He assured that the APC will win the by-election because according to him the party is a formidable one and a united entity as was demonstrated by those who aspired but lost the party primaries assuring that all of them are ready to work for the victory of the party’s candidate in the by-election scheduled for August 11.
