SPECIAL Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Job Creation, Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede and Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, on Thursday, told N-Power beneficiaries that it was imperative for them to support the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari for the N-power programme to continue.
Imoukhuede and Ajimobi identified this imperative at a rally involving the about N20,000 Oyo state beneficiaries of the N-power social investment programme that started at Oyo State Government House Arcade and terminated at Agodi Gardens, Ibadan.
While appreciating the commitment and great contributions of the beneficiaries towards a better economy, Imoukhuede said the N-power programme was bound to be stopped if they failed to vote for Buhari in 2019.
This is as he added that more Nigerians would be engaged into the programme, where they got N30,000 per month, once Buhari is reelected.
“We commend the participants and beneficiaries of the N-Power programme for being faithful to their country and contributing to the progress of Nigeria.
“It will go into history that these teeming number of Oyo youths came out to appreciate President Buhari for changing their fortune for the better and giving them a voice to be reckoned with.
“It is pertinent to remind you youths that continuity of Buhari is tantamount to the continuity of this social programme. So you must keep supporting President Buhari for the future of this programme to be assured,” he said.
Speaking in the same vein, Ajimobi called on beneficiaries to return the Buhari government’s gesture of getting Nigerians engaged through various economic intervention programmes, by voting continuity of the current government beyond 2019.
He urged the youths to effectively utilize their huge voting strength in the forthcoming election while hinting N-power beneficiaries that the programme was bound to suffer a sudden death if Buhari is not reelected.
Ajimobi also echoed assurances that the current N-power monthly pay was expected to be reviewed upwards after 2019, urging beneficiaries to secure their future by voting Buhari for a second term.
“If you fail to vote president Buhari for the second term, I want to assure you that N-Power will be stopped.
“We all know that your age group is 54 per cent of Nigerian population and if the number of registered voters in Nigeria is 84million, we can be sure that Buhari already got 61million votes,” he said.
In her own remarks, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Atinuke Osunkoya, appreciated the federal government for the programme, adding that the various government interventions had created financial freedom for over a million youths in the state.
