PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has urged the people of Sokoto to cast their vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general election to consolidate on its achievement in the last three and a half years.
The President who was speaking in Sokoto on Wednesday when he led other party leaders on a campaign train to the state, praised the people of the state for trooping out to welcome him.
On arrival in Sokoto, the president was escorted to the palace of the Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar by Senator Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi, Adams Oshiomole, Abdulrahman Dambazau, Manir Dan Ali, Aliyu Wamakko among other party leaders.

According to the President, ” when I came here in 2015 to campaign, I promised three things.
” To fight corruption, to stop insurgency and to improve our economy. Today we can all see the results of the three.
“We have successfully tackle all the three problems mentioned in the last three and a half years.
“Our farmers are being provided with fertilizers which have improved our food productions tremendously.
“I promise to improve on all these in my second term so as to improve on the living conditions of average citizens of our country” he stated.
Meanwhile, the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has assured the youths in the country that the Buhari Administration will cater for them more in the second term.
He also assured of food security, saying “the country is on the path of development with a just and patriotic leader in President Buhari”.
The director general of the Buhari campaign organisation and the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi has also assured the people of the state that railway line from Jibiya to Gusau to Sokoto and Birni Kebbi would soon be awarded.
In his remarks, the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole praised the people of the state for the support given to the leader of the party in the state, Aliyu Wamakko and also advised them to vote massively for all the candidates of the party in the state.
Speaking earlier, the former Governor of Sokoto State and chairman of Buhari campaign in the Northwest zones, Aliyu Wamakko has assured the president and all the party leaders of the total votes of Sokoto in the general election.
