Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered more development to Northern Nigeria than any previous Nigerian president, insisting the region will reward him with more votes in the 2027 general election.

Sani made the remarks during an interview with Arise TV when he was asked whether the All Progressives Congress (APC) faces the challenge of convincing Northerners to support Tinubu’s re-election or persuading them that the ruling party remains capable of delivering on its promises.

The governor said his assessment was based on available data and statistics, maintaining that no previous president had matched Tinubu’s level of infrastructural and developmental intervention in the North within the first three years of office.

He dismissed suggestions that Tinubu would struggle to secure support from the region in 2027, describing such claims as unfounded.

According to him, Tinubu is on course to secure more votes in the North than he received during the 2023 presidential election.

Sani cited the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna Road as one of the administration’s major achievements, noting that the project had been abandoned by successive governments for decades before Tinubu revived it.

He explained that more than ₦600 billion had already been paid to the contractor handling the road project out of a total contract value of about ₦750 billion.

He added that he had personally monitored the project and expressed confidence that it would be completed and commissioned in November.

The Kaduna governor also highlighted the ongoing reconstruction of the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road, saying work on the project resumed after it had remained abandoned for more than 25 years.

He further credited the Tinubu administration with supporting Kaduna State’s agricultural sector through the Special Agro-Processing Zone (SAPZ) initiative and the provision of fertiliser for small-scale farmers, describing the interventions as crucial to the state’s economy.

Sani also listed the establishment of the Federal University of Science and Technology in southern Kaduna and the conversion of one of the state’s hospitals into a Federal Medical Centre among projects executed under the current administration.

In addition, he pointed to the Federal Executive Council’s approval of ₦1 trillion for the Kaduna Light Rail project, saying preliminary studies had been completed and funds had already been released to begin implementation.

The governor maintained that these projects demonstrated Tinubu’s commitment to the development of Northern Nigeria and insisted they would strengthen public support for the president ahead of the 2027 elections.

He said partly, “Let me be very prompt here, and you see, when I talk, it is on the basis of data and statistics. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today, I can tell you, has done more than any leader for Northern Nigeria.

“I can tell you categorically, no president has done for the North, in terms of development, what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done in the last three years. And I’m speaking on the basis of data and statistics, that’s number one.

“Number two, a lot of people have come here and told you the North will not vote for Asiwaju. That is a figment of their imagination. I can tell you categorically, I’m the Governor of Kaduna State, and I can tell you Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will get more votes in 2027 than what he got. And I’ll tell you the reason today, and I just told you, because I’m here to talk on data.”
