The promoter of Ekiti State All Star Concert and Humanitarian Award, Mr Sunday Kolawole has revealed that one of the essence of hosting the concert is to draw world attention to the tourism potentialities of Ekiti State.
‘We are using Ekiti All Star Concert to show tourism assets’
Mr Kolawole who made this assertion in an interview with TTM pointed out “We deliberately set this event to be a concert and carnival like where the Ekiti indigenes will interact with Ekiti indigenes who have made names and remarkable contribution to the development of the country in various endeavours. Some of these stars in various fields are not known as indigenes and some of them due to no fault of theirs have not have the opportunity of interacting with the state. Hence, we are using this to draw and lure them to their father’s stead”.
He revealed “At the concert, we will be celebrating the likes of Odunlade Adekola, Sola Sobowale, Yinka Ayefele, Mayd, Falz, Fliptyce, Puffyee, Tope Tedela, Abayomi Alvin. Niniola, Teniola Fade Ogunro, Victor Olaiya, Mosunmola Filani, Foluke Daramola, Peju Daramola, Peju Ogunmola, Jazzman Olofin, Bukky Fagbuyi, Aare Afe babalola, Chief Peter Fatomilola, Phlex, Seun Akindele, Biodun Caston dada (publisher Acada magazine), Dr Frabz, Sade Adu and others.
According to Mr Kolawole, state celebrities will perform at the event, which is billed to take place on Friday November 25, 2017 at the Pavillion Centre in Ekiti State and the Humanitarian Awards on November 26, 2017 at AB Foundation Civil Center Hall.
He also disclosed “we want to also use this concert to generate tourism traffic to the state. A lot of people will be in the state majorly to witness the concert and some of them will be coming for the first time. Thus, we are making sure that we assemble all the Ekitis in the Nollywood, music, and those who have contributed immensely to the development of arts and culture in Nigeria”.
Mr Kolawole revealed ‘We are also going to use the concert to sell, promote and publicize Ekiti State which is blessed with many tourism sites. Some have been enhanced while some are still in their natural form, but are in good state for patronage.”
He commended the state Governor, Dr Ayodele Fayose for “his untiring efforts at planting basic infrastructure and memorable facilities in the state. All these will be taken home by the tourists coming to witness the concert.
