Tribesmen, a dedicated community of believers, recently sent their Missionary Unit to two villages on the border between Oyo and Osun States. These two villages have been completely disconnected from the transformative developments—whatever your definition of development may be—occurring all around them.
The Missionary Unit successfully completed its mission to Olofa and Bioku, two remote villages on the outskirts of Ibadan and Osun State, with the goal of providing both spiritual and material support to those in need. Led by Pelumi Michael (P.K.A Lumipee), Tribesmen embarked on the journey on September 20, 2024, focusing on distributing essential items and spreading the message of Christ.
Understanding the economic challenges faced by the villagers, the group provided clothing for both the young and old, as well as writing materials to encourage out-of-school children and teenagers to return to school, with plans to sponsor the education of about 50 children. They also offered much-needed medical services. “The current economic situation makes it critical for us as Christians to stand by those who are struggling, just as Christ commanded,” Lumipee said.
These donations were a lifeline for the village, where access to basic resources is limited. The team of missionaries was divided into smaller groups to manage the distribution of supplies, ensuring that the most vulnerable were reached and that medical care was provided. Each team was led by Silas Funminiyi and Oke David.
On September 21, the team engaged in house-to-house evangelism, sharing the gospel and offering spiritual support. The day culminated in a powerful evening prayer session, where many experienced healing, miracles, and deliverance as the villagers embraced the message of Christ. The mission to Olofa was a profound success, leaving the community both materially supported and spiritually uplifted. For Tribesmen, the journey is far from over. Their mission remains steadfast, and their resolve unshaken: to make Christ known, not just through words but through powerful acts of faith and compassion. This marks the third village in Nigeria that they have reached.
The team returned on September 22, physically exhausted but elated by the number of souls won, already preparing for their next journey to another village. The Unit will, however, shift its focus to Widows and Teenagers in December.
