The global smartphone market is set for another busy cycle in May 2026, as major manufacturers prepare to unveil devices that could shape consumer choices in the months ahead.

  • Vivo X300 Ultra
  • Vivo X300 FE
  • OnePlus Nord CE 6
  • Oppo Find X9s
  • Realme 16

From improved camera systems to faster processors and design refinements, the upcoming smartphone launches in May 2026 reflect how brands are responding to growing demand for performance, durability, and value.

Industry watchers expect these releases to target different segments, from premium flagships to mid-range devices, all competing for attention in an already saturated market.

As anticipation builds, reports indicate that at least five notable smartphones will debut within the month. These launches come at a time when consumers are increasingly selective, weighing features such as battery life, software support, and pricing before making purchase decisions.

Tribune online examines all five smartphone brands and their expected release date:

Vivo X300 Ultra

The Vivo X300 Ultra is scheduled to launch on the 6th of May 2026. It is expected to arrive as a flagship device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, featuring a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display, a 200MP triple camera system, and a 6,600mAh battery with fast charging support.

Vivo X300 FE

The Vivo X300 FE will also launch on the 6th of May 2026, alongside the Ultra variant. It is positioned as a compact premium smartphone, expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, a 6.31-inch AMOLED display, a triple camera setup, and a 6,500mAh battery.

The company is reportedly preparing a device that blends flagship-level performance with affordability, a formula that has helped it gain traction in emerging markets. The upcoming model may include a high refresh rate display and a powerful chipset aimed at gaming and multitasking users.

OnePlus Nord CE 6

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 is set to launch on the 7th of May 2026. It is designed as a mid-range performance device, expected to come with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a 1.5K 144Hz display, a dual camera system, and a large battery aimed at long usage.

The brand has built its reputation around smooth user experience and fast charging technology, and the new release is expected to build on these strengths. Industry observers believe OnePlus may also introduce subtle design changes to keep its devices visually competitive.

Oppo Find X9s

The Oppo Find X9s is expected to launch sometime in May 2026, although the exact date has not been confirmed. The device is anticipated to feature the Dimensity 9500s chipset, a 6.59-inch AMOLED display, and a triple 50MP rear camera system.

Realme 16

The Realme 16 is also expected to launch in May 2026. It is positioned as a mid-range smartphone focusing on balanced performance, camera improvements, and everyday usability, powered by a Dimensity series chipset.
