Tips for caring for used press-on nails

Nails are essential to fashion and beauty, regardless of how subtle they might seem. However, getting them done can take time. Imagine sitting for long hours because you want to get your nails done.

Well, press-on nails to the rescue for those who can’t afford to let go of that time. The advantage is that you can reuse them and don’t have to get rid of them after the first use.

Another thing you should know about them is that they are not cheap—the good quality ones are. Hence, you need to take care of them after use.

The following tips will be useful when you want to take care of used press-on nails.

1. Remove with caution

After the first use, don’t just remove it like you’re tearing sheets off a book. Instead, remove it gently and carefully. So, when you’re ready to remove your nails, what do you do? That’s a good question. Soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes, say 10. Also, add a little soap to the water before dipping your hands.

That way, it’ll be easier to remove them because the warm, soapy water will weaken the impact of the glue and make it easier to remove the nails without damaging them or your fingernails.

2. Clean them

It doesn’t end with removing your used press-on nails; you need to clean the glue on them because warm water doesn’t guarantee a thorough job the first time.

You also need warm water for this step. Soak the used press-on nails in water and gently scrub the glue off.

Do this, and your nails are ready for use the next time you need them.

3. Smoothen the edges

Use a nail file to smoothen the rough edges of the nails, keeping them presentable until the next time you need to use them.

4. Keep them hygienic

You can keep your used press-on nails hygienic by sanitising them. Dip them into alcohol or alcohol-based products for a few minutes to keep germs off.

Remember you’ll be using them again, so you need to ensure it is safe to use next time.

5. Keep them safe

Do you know the popular prescription for specific products? “Store in a cool, dry place.” Keep your nails in a cool, dry place, free from the impact of water or moisture. Another good option is to keep them organized to avoid misplacing them or causing damage to them.

They often come in packs, but you could also use suitable boxes or containers to keep them and maintain their shape and beauty.

All in all, these tips will help keep your nails looking good and presentable for a long time. They’ll also help you save money and time.
