Tinubu, Shettima, Akpabio, govs meet on how to jump-start economy

President Bola Tinubu and vice president Kashim Shettima have met with President of the senate, Godswill Akpabio, in continuation of consultation on how to jump start the economy.

Also at the meeting at presidential villa, Abuja on Wednesday evening were the governors of Imo, Kwara, Lagos and Ogun Hope Uzodinma, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun, respectively.

Former governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje was also present.

Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy explained that the meeting also looked at how to  finalize arrangement on the distribution of palliatives to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal.

The presidency had earlier proposed the distribution of grains and fertilizers to farmers also as part of measures to boost food security in the country.
