The Kogi State Police Command said three persons abducted by suspected kidnappers in the state have been released.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP William Ayah, who made this known on Saturday in a press statement said the victims include Mohammed Salisu Cache, Abdulraq Mohammed and Abdulraq Anataku.
According to him, the victims were kidnapped at about 2:15 pm on Monday, December 30, 2019, when the kidnappers attacked a vehicle going to Okene from Lokoja at Eika-Itakpe bye pass road.
One Afusat Suberu was shot dead on the spot as the kidnappers took the others into the bush.
He stated that police operatives attached to Federal Anti-Robbery Squad Special Forces, Police Mobile Force as well as conventional Police Officers were mobilised and they launched a massive manhunt on the kidnappers to ensure a safe release of the victims.

Ayah noted that after some intensive pressures from the team of operatives, the kidnappers released all the three victims unhurt.
He, therefore, assured that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ede Ayuba Ekpeji, is assuring the good people of the state of the Command’s determination in collaborating with other security agencies to provide a safe and secure environment in the state.
He also called on the members of the public to always volunteer timely and credible information to the Police on the activities of criminal elements in the state.
