It said this would help resolve and minimise technical challenges, expand the load and promptly attend to distribution interface issues.
Before now, the commission had constantly blamed the distribution companies for rejecting load allocated to it while the DisCos on their parts had denied the claims.
However, the commission in a statement issued and signed by the General Manager (Public Affairs), Ndidi Mbah, in Abuja on Monday said the focal persons would ensure that the DisCos take more power to the consumers.
The focal persons who were inaugurated at the TCN Headquarters, include Mr L. C. Okalla, AGM (T), Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Mr Jude Agupusi, AGM (SO), Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC), Mr A. O. Balogun AGM (T), Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBDC), Mr C. Iwuamadi, AGM (T) and Mr S. O. Omoragbon, AGM (SO) for Eko and Ikeja Distribution companies respectively.
Others are, Mr Balarabe Abdullahi, AGM (SO), Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC), Mr M. S. Nuhu, PM (T), Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC), Mr A. O. Labaran AGM (SO), Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) and Mr M. I. Tijani AGM (SO), Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), while Mr M. D. Ahmed, PM (T) Jos Sub Region and Mr Tijani Ahmadu PM (T), Jos and Yola Electricity Distribution companies respectively.
“The Terms of Reference, for the Focal Persons are to liaise with DisCos daily as representatives of TCN on all DisCos/TCN interface issues, resolve the issues as soon as they occur,” the statement reads.
The statement further stressed the commission’s commitment to improving her wheeling capacity and also maintain cordial relationship with all the stakeholders to achieve stable electricity supply.
