The Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmed Sulaiman has assured Bauchi implementation Office of the Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) of full support in project management and implementation in the Emirate. The Emir also appreciated and commended ACReSAL for its positive impact on the lives of his people expressing confidence that the project's initiatives would succeed with God's guidance. The Emir was speaking when the Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, Dr Ibrahim Kabir led the State Project Management Unit on a visit to the Emir in his Palace in Misau. Ahmed Suleiman assured that he and his Emirate Council as well as the entire people of the Emir will give their full support for the successful implementation of the project in Misau Emirate and Bauchi State in general. Earlier, the State Project Coordinator Dr. Ibrahim Kabir during the visit, provided a comprehensive overview of the activities undertaken by ACReSAL in the state to the understanding of the Emir. He highlighted key initiatives to be implemented across the 20 LGAs of the state, such as the construction of dams and drainage systems, the establishment of plant nurseries, water schemes, Community Resilience Funds (CRF) which is ongoing, and other projects aimed at addressing climate change and improving livelihoods. He explained that these projects are designed to work together to enhance the resilience of communities in Bauchi State for the good of the people. Ibrahim Kabir informed the Council of ACReSAL's commitments in providing enough seedlings for massive tree planting efforts in Misau because of its importance to reforestation in combating climate issues. He also mentioned plans to identify a location for the proposed Agro-processing Center, which is intended to enhance the livelihoods of youths in the area especially those among the 1000 youths trained by the Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed. Also speaking, the SSA to the Governor on ACReSAL, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Barde assured Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed's readiness to improve the living condition of the people through projects like ACReSAL and gave assurance to fulfilling the project promises. The Chiroman Misau used the forum and pledged on behalf of the council to secure a suitable location for the construction of the proposed mashaya (Dam), and other locations when needed and promised his continued support for the project. In addition, Bauchi ACReSAL presented a thresher machine and other souvenirs to the Emirate Council as contained in a statement by Bauchi ACReSAL Communication Unit. In the same vein, Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Dr Umar Faruq II, has commended Bauchi ACReSAL for the loudable initiatives aimed at addressing environmental challenges and improving the lives of people in the state. The Emir made the commendation when the State project coordinator Dr Ibrahim Kabir and his team visited him while on the tour to emirate councils. Dr Umar Faruq who is the ACReSAL's Patron, attested that traditional institutions in the state are ready to partner and support initiatives aimed at addressing environmental issues and improving the lives of their people, assuring his continued support in achieving the project's objectives. Bauchi ACReSAL Team used the moment and presented a thresher machine for his Emirate Council.
