Again, a secondary student, identified as Joshua Joseph, of Toyon High School, Ere, Ado-Odo, in collaboration with his mother, hired thugs to beat up one of his teachers, on Tuesday.
This development is happening a few weeks after parents were directed to sign undertaken on behalf of their wards over unwholesome attitudes towards their teachers.
Tribune Online learnt that the victim, Mr Kabir Azeez, had directed Joseph to return home and barb his hairstyle to low cut.
They were said to have inflicted injuries on two other teachers, Messers. Abel Thomas and Adegun Adekunle.
It was also gathered that a vehicle belonging to one Mr Jolayemi Jeromu, was vandalised.
A senior staff of the school confirmed the ugly development while saying that Joshua’s mum and one of the thugs have been arrested by the Police.

“On Monday, we asked our student to go and cut his hair because the hair he brought to school was not acceptable in the school. Yesterday, he came again with that same hair, we told him to go and cut the hair. I collected his bag and told him to come back after cutting the hair. Coming back to school, he came with two men and two women to accuse us that why should we ask him to go and cut his hair.
“I gave them his bag and told them to go and be teaching him at home. They went out and I started to hear noises within the school premises. They started beating the teachers. They smashed the windscreen of a car parked within the school.
“Yesterday evening, they came to our quarters again, claiming that we stole their phone. They almost attacked us. We told them their phone is not with us. They came to meet us again this morning, but we thank God no one was attacked,”
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest of Mr Oyedele Joseph and his wife by men of the Command.
He said that the Divisional Police Officer of Ado-Odo, SP Arowojeun Micheal, swung into action immediately he got wind of the incident.
The PPRO said the parents of Joshua felt that the teacher had no moral right to reprimand his son, hence their decision to storm the school and launched attack on the teachers.
He said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the teacher Abel Thomas, moderately corrected a SS3 student of the school by name Joshua Joseph who then went home to inform his parents that he was beaten by the teacher.
“Having heard from their son, the parents who felt that the teacher has no right to beat their son for any reason mobilized some thugs and stormed the school.
“On getting to the school, they descended heavily on the teacher, beat and injured him. They also damaged the back screen of a Toyota Corolla with registration number LSD 395 FV belonging to another teacher of the school Jolayemi Sunday. The injured teacher had been taken to hospital for medical treatment.”
