Stephen Nzurum, distributor of Crayola products in Nigeria through SFi Africa Brands, has highlighted the critical role art and creative tools play in boosting the confidence and development of Nigerian children.
According to him, research from Crayola reveals a strong link between creative activities and essential life skills. “In a recent global survey of children aged 6 to 12, 92% said creativity improves their self-confidence, while over half reported that creative tasks gave them a sense of accomplishment and pride, he said.
Nzurum, whose company distributes popular Crayola items like the 140-piece Inspiration Art Case via major platforms such as Jumia Nigeria, is helping make these tools more accessible to families, schools, and retailers across Nigeria.
“When children are given the right tools to express themselves, something incredible happens — their confidence grows,” said Stephen Nzurum, CEO of SFi Africa Brands. “At SFi Africa, we’re proud to distribute products like Crayola’s art kits that don’t just entertain, but truly empower. This is about preparing young minds to think critically, express freely, and lead boldly.”
Nzurum also emphasized the importance of affordability and access, particularly in underserved communities, where creative materials are often overlooked in school budgets.
As Crayola products find their way into more classrooms and homes in Nigeria, Nzurum says the real impact is measured not just in sales but in stories — of children discovering their voices, building confidence, and embracing creativity as a path to growth.
