Speaker’s New Media Exchange 2025 is a landmark gathering at the intersection of communication, technology, and governance.
According to the Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, the social media engagement is “designed as a platform to interact with young citizens, particularly digital media stakeholders, thought leaders, and media practitioners.
“The exchange will focus on having a direct and robust conversation with young people on critical matters that concern them while sharing insights.”
With the theme ‘Smart Cities and Ethical Media: Navigating the Role of Policy in National Development’, the event will bring together national and international players from various sectors—including media, technology, public relations, policy development, and civic engagement—with significant influence in the digital space.
Mr Krishi explained that the key sessions will cover topics such as ‘Legislating for Digital Responsibility: Curbing Fake News and Promoting Patriotism in the Social Media Era’ and ‘Smart Cities, Thriving Athletes: How Policy Shapes Infrastructure and Sports Development’.
“The engagement will feature interactive breakout sessions between the public and members of the House, where citizens will have the opportunity to present a mock bill.
“The event will reaffirm the critical role of responsible communication in shaping modern governance and provide a blueprint for navigating the challenges and opportunities of the digital era,” he stated.
