The Nigerian Southern Senators Forum has expressed its condolences to the Nigerian Army over the passing of its Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, the Forum declared that his death is a monumental loss to both the Nigerian military and the nation at large.

The statement reads in part, “The Nigerian Southern Senators Forum, under the leadership of its Chairman, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, expresses profound sorrow over the untimely passing of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja. His death is a monumental loss to the Nigerian military and the entire nation, and we join millions of Nigerians in mourning this tragic event.
“The Forum extends heartfelt condolences to Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, his family, friends, and the Nigerian Armed Forces. We also sympathize with all Nigerians, especially the men and women of the Nigerian Army who served under his command.
