The communal clash-themed movie produced and directed by ace movie maker, Yemi Amodu has a sterling cast with Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Yemi Blaq leading the casts. Others are Segun Arinze, Prince Jide Kosoko, Ken Erics, Toyin Abraham, Said Balogun, Sola Kosoko, and Rotimi Salami.
According to the producer, the BOI-sponsored movie is nearing completion as far as post production is concerned. “We thank God for the post-production stages which has gulped a lot of money, aside the production itself. Now we are at the sound editing stage, which is the last stage of production. Shadow Parties will be out in cinemas before this year comes to an end. The anticipation is fever pitch as everyone wants to see it as the story resonates with us and is about the evil of violence, communal clashes and kidnapping and how the kidnap victim found love in the hands of her captors.”
A scene in the movie on jungle justice was leaked last year and it showed Arike (Toyin Abraham) trying to wrest her son out of a mob attack and the violence that ensued and this got over 200,000 views on Youtube as at last year.
Shot in Lagos, Ibadan and Akure cities, Shadow Parties is a story about Aremu (Ken Erics) who hails from Aje, a town that neighbours Iludun, where his wife, Arike (Toyin Aimakhu), was born. Known for fratricidal wars, which had claimed the lives of Arike’s parents, the towns were one more time thrown into war after the kinsmen of Aremu decided to burn his wife and child claiming she was an enemy and also triggering a reprisal attack from the Iluduns led by Lowo (Yemi Blaq), Arike’s brother.
