IT was a bleak day in Otukpo on Wednesday as seven persons were killed in a motor accident along Enugu-Otukpo road.
Eyewitness said that the accident occurred Wednesday morning when the driver of a lorry loaded with tubers of yam and bags of corn lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a Gulf car conveying seven passengers including the driver.
The eyewitness further said that all the occupants of the car died instantly.
Among the dead was a one-year-old boy, a woman and five men.
Otukpo Unit commander of Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC, Abdulahi Umar who confirmed the incident said that the remains of the victims had been deposited at Otukpo General Hospital.
